Epic honors two of its own Veterans in 2012

Mr. Kenton R Hayes, Sr.  enlisted in the United States Army Air Force on August 17, 1944 and was called to active duty on February 12, 1945.  He  attended Airplane Mechanics School at Amirella Air Force Base, Texas and Chanut Field, Illinois.  Mr. Hayes served in the Army of Occupation, Eshborn Air Force Base, Germany from Feb. 1946 to Nov. 1956 as Adminstrative Specialist.  Discharged as Sgt. Dec. 1946. 

Mr. Kenton R Hayes, Sr.  founded  Hayes, Utley & Hedgspeth Insurance in 1954.

Mr. Hulin L. “Sam” Bundy enlisted in the United States Army on May 3, 1943 and trained in Fort Knox, Ky.  He was called to active duty on November 24, 1943 and headed to Casablanca. After serving in Naples, and Anzio, Mr. Bundy landed in Nice where he was wounded by machine gun in the invasion of Southern France after two months of continuous combat.  A month after his 24thbirthday he was taken as a POW in Nov 1944.

Hulin L. “Sam” Bundy became an owner of Hayes, Utley & Hedgspeth in 1970 when we merged with Heritage Insurance.
